Did you become a U.S. citizen 4 months ago - or were you already a U.S. citizen and only got evidence of the fact 4 months ago?

If you've been a U.S. citizen all along, then getting a SSN may be neither easy nor quick as they will probably want to see a lot of evidence showing that you grew up outside the United States. If, like many people, you and your parents have thrown away all your old documents then it will be hard to do this.

Be aware of your tax filing and (if applicable) Selective Service registration requirements.
