Default So if I'm rich, can I get a green card somewhere in the southern united states?

hypothetically speaking, if i was a multi millionaire and i was prepared to invest some say 1millionĀ£, would that get me a green card or not? Someone i know claims it would but im not too sure

A green card is a green card, good for any of the 50 states, plus DC.

EB5 and invest a half mill. Wouldn't call that rich though, not over here, these days.

But if you're looking down south, you probably could pick one up for a few grand at the back of a dodgy bar...

Sure, but if you are that rich, you probably don't "need" a green card to go about your business. You "need" to make good investments. A GC might be an incidental.

A lot of rich people, unless really committed to becoming Americans, might prefer not to have a green card because of associated tax/financial obligations.

Just on a side note, but Kevin O'Leary (presenter on Shark Tank on ABC and Dragon's Den on CBC) gave up his green card because of the tax issues, decided to stick with O-1.

There's a "financial" show on CBC called: The Lang and O'Leary Exchange where Amanda Lang constantly ribs him about it when he starts talking about investing in the US.

Girlfriends don't have any status for immigration purposes, I recommend that you exchange your girlfriend for a wife.
