Both are pretty bloody awful. I was at Disneyland last week and the number of obese parents and their obese children was frightening.

[QUOTE=Pickles]OK so you may notice from my signature that I finally after 1,000,000 attempts have stopped smoking a little over 3 months ago and still going strong, no urge to smoke at all.

I had been smoking for about 9 years with varying degrees, from a pack a day to 2 packs a week depending on my surroundings etc.

So my question is this anyone else quit after comming over here, do you think it is harder to quit over here for any particular reason? What methods did you use?

I used quitnet web site, went tee total for the first month and Allan Carr books.

Please share your experiences.
Good luck, well done, keep it up.

2 packs aday, sometimes 3. Quit 18 years ago, Cold turkey. I call it my "Claim to fame". Must be in my genes, my father could do it & both of my brothers can stop cold, no help, no aides.
For me, always stop on Sunday, bed time. Wake up Monday, no more smoking.
Of course, you never stop wanting one, who knows when, some odd moment, in a bar, party etc. The urge pops up, my late father, would say 32 years smoke free, still the occassional urge.

Funny, good one. I know people who took the patch off, had a ciggy & put the patch back on. Daft, but tuff.
