Post Small stash of UK food at Giant Eagle, Cranberry Twp, PA

Well I thought it was newsworthy as it's the first time I've seen this stuff at Giant Eagle near where I live and I know there's a couple of people on the boards from this area. Of course it's not much to write home about - Ambrosia Creamed Rice, (proper) Devon Custard, some hobnobs, baked beans, tomatoe soup, no canned spaghetti, turkish delight. At Station Square in Pittsburgh there's an Irish shop that sells stuff too - flake, tayto crisps.

Twp= Township. They have a lot of towns in PA with Township in the name.

Yes - I would have replied sooner but I'm not getting notifications of posts. Also Shop N Save are now doing English food too.

Cranberry is about 26 miles directly north of Pittsburgh - you can get to it from I76/I70 (same road more or less).

Well I went today and at first I didn't see the English stuff because it was in the French section (?). But I found it and got some beans & smelly pickled onions and surprised the husband! Thanks

Most of the supermarkets around here sell imported marmalade, they also sell french biscuits/cookies called pims which just taste like jaffa cakes. I've also found that the heinz vegetarian baked beinz taste pretty damn close to the ones back home.

There are also a few Irish stores in the area too.

Is it my imagination, or are there more Brits coming over here now? Maybe... now that the pound is so strong and the dollar so weak? Anyway, for anyone near north central Florida, check out the Hitchcock's in Alachua. I was amazed to find a "UK" section in the store.

That is my local "big bird" and I saw that stuff a while ago, but they still do not stock "jaffa cakes"
And I thought I was the only Brit in this little part of America!!

I've recently found several stores carrying British products in Atlanta, Georgia. There's an Indian store right across the street from my work in NE Atlanta that sells a bunch of things, like Angel Delight, tea, Heinz Baked Beans, etc, etc. There's also a Kroger in Midtown that has a small British shelf by the dairy section that has stuff like custard, I believe Jaffa Cakes, etc. So the stuff is around!
