It might be, but $500 here, $500 there, and you are talking serious money, at a time when you have no US credit history or credit cards, and when a lot of us didn't have medical insurance.

If you've got it, and you can bring it with your shipment, why not ?

And we're not talking about transformers to run it.

Maybe ours is in the minority, but is a hard wired cable with grounding.

It's a fairly cheap 32" TV that the Mrs had before we met. I keep trying to convince her for a bigger one, but to no avail.

Home insurance policies usually prohibit transformers too, so if your house burns down your insurance may be voided.
