As we were moving quite a few antique pieces over and in order for these pieces to be insured correctly, we had to have their packers re-pack the items. What a poor job they did. As their unpackers at this end worked at such a speed and you can imagine how hectic everything was on the arrival of all of our furniture etc., as the days passed by we discovered many small scratches, chips etc from lots of the pieces. In addition, the rest of our belongings, after being carefully packed by myself, had been unpacked and thrown together, with no order whatsoever. Beautiful small items of furniture had had my bubble wrap etc. taken off and been dumped into boxes and then had other smaller items put in on top and around the sides, thus causing scratches. They had even unwrapped an 8 place dinner service and put it into a box marked books, which had obviously been handled roughly. It is now only a 4 place setting.
Their basic compensation at that time was only 40 pounds a box, not an item so, this in no way covered our losses. My lovely evening handbags and been put into boxes of books and hasd been crushed, making them useless. Think of how many small items it takes to fill a box and work out the mathematics!
It still upsets me to think of the way our belongings (many of which had great sentimental value), had been treated.
On the other hand, when looking at the forum not long after our arrival, I realized how lightly we had got off compared to many other people using different movers.
On a happier and more positive note - we've enjoyed every minute here and made so many great friends that all this tends to fade into insignificance.
Good luck with your move.
That sounds pretty bad I was so hopeful that I had only read good reviews up until now. I guess for every company there is good and bad just dependent on who you get on the day.

Very sorry to hear about your things though

I'd also say "avoid Anglo Pacific".

To be fair, they were great on the front end — friendly, helpful, answered our questions. But, alas, in the course of moving us from the UK to Canada, they lost some items — utter carelessness on their part. There then followed weeks of denial, prevarication, obfuscation, rudeness, and generally unhelpfulness. One "customer service" agent, was so rude and so unhelpful I've ended up writing to their CEO to try to get our issue solved — I've never experienced such bad service from a company.

I'm sure if everything goes smoothly, they'd have been fine. But the real test of a company is what happens when things go wrong. Anglo Pacific failed magnificently — and I'd suggest you avoid them — unless you have your own insurance and can look after yourselves should any mistakes happen.

Hey all

We moved to California in July and we used Anglo and they were great! We actually chose them because they were the most helpful when we were making enquiries and calling around for quotes! They weren't the cheapest but for me its all about the service!

Our contact in the UK was Chris Adams and he was fantastic, always quick to respond to questions etc.

We actually had our stuff flown over to the US and is worked our cheaper than shipping and only took 1.5 weeks!

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Whatever you do you, do not use Anglo Pacific - our experience was disastrous. The boxes arrived partially opened and had been taped back together by the local agent in Singapore with some sellotape. I had packed a box full of kitchen items to save the expense of restocking in KL, and had also brought quite a few precious things - not very valuable, moneywise but of great sentimental value - and about 90% arrived in pieces. Boxes arrived wet and the contents were soaked and water damaged. Anglo Pacific changed the routing of the boxes from Port Klang to Singapore. They used Interport to deliver from SIngapore to KL. The truck was a soft-sided flat bed broken-down old thing that looked as if it had been in several road accidents. The insurance claim is causing more headache as we are unable to provide receipts for everything missing and broken. Who keeps receipts for crockery!!! Who has receipts for gifts give more than 10 years earlier? I have not a good word to say about this unprofessional shower. Do not use them! Good luck with your move

With respect, your experience is valuable - but is not indicative of their operations overall... especially since the post immediately above yours disputes your opinion of their worth.

It seems that your experience is specific to Malaysia and is not necessarily applicable elsewhere.

Is it me or there are jsut too many posts from new posters bashing anglo pacific? may be mod's can check? May be coincidence...no offense meant to the posters

I used Anglo pacific's sister concern from when I moved from Sydney to San Francisco. No issues what so ever. Their local parters are Schumacher Logistics who were helpful. They took a tad longer for the local delivery but I will give them benefit of the doubt given mine was a shared container and Schumacher Logistics did give me advance notice that they will need extra 7 days to unload the shared container, sort them and make sure all is well.
