Default Shipping Companies and Stairs

Do most shipping companies not move furniture above ground floor at destination? We're going Oz to UK and one quote states in their 'exclusions' that they don't deliver above ground floor? Is this generally the case with most of them?

Thanks,
Adelia

No - it just means that if you need furniture moved to the first, second or third floor then you have to pay more.

Even within a house?

We've never experienced this. Is it a UK thing?

I thought the OP meant an apartment. Never had any problems with a 2 storey house.

Thanks everyone who replied. I've contacted the company and they say they will deliver to first floor at no extra charge. Just wanted to be sure, as it does state in their terms and conditions that above ground floor delivery is excluded.
