Sent your I-130/I-485 around July 30, 2007..?

Wanted to dedicate this thread for an estimate of the processing timelines (receipt, approval..etc) of I-130/I-485/I-765/I-131 applications that were mailed right before/around the July 30, 2007 fee increase. This will possibly provide an idea of "delays" due to the July 30 rush and "quickening", if any, in processing times that has resulted from the increased fees.

Mine:
I-130/I-485/I-765/I-131 to Chicago Lockbox (for TSC/south carolina)
Mailed: 28 July, 2007
Delivered: 30 July, 2007

Please give your district office in your response. As that is the deciding factor in the timeline for AOS. Added by the Moderator ... Rete

khai ko,
the only answers that will have any relevance to each other are those who are using the same District Office and filed at roughly the same time.

Even though all family based AOS applications are sent to the same address, they are adjudicated by the geographically designated local office for each applicant.

Hi Khai Ko,

You might be able to compare EAD and AP timelines this way, but not the adjudication of the I-485. That is done by your local district office, so you should mention what that is, and only compare using people who are going through that same office.

Best Wishes,
Rene

My husband & I married 6/13/07 while he was on his third visit to me house since 2/07. It was not planned; he came with very little in his 2 suitcases. We acted on a whim and were somewhat ignorant of the immigration/marriage issues. Anyway, it's done and he was able to handle his finances/job/housing etc. from the U.S. through his sisters, solicitor, financial advisor, emails, faxes, and on and on.

We hired an attorney & the I-130/I-485/I-864EZ/I-765 were mailed out 7/18/07.

We did not apply for advance parole....our attorney advised it may be a waste of money if my husband had already taken care of his business matters, because we may get the AOS interview before AP approval. He said if an emergency came up and he needed to get back to England then he could possibly get emergency approval a little faster but it would still be some time.

The ASC appintment notice for the biometrics came in the mail 8/10/07. His appt. is for 8/27/07.

I'll keep you updated.

There is no such thing as "approval a little faster" when it comes to AP, and it usually takes 3 months to get... at a minimum. If your husband leaves the US without AP you may as well get used to the idea of starting the entire immigration process over again and him remaining outside the US until he gets a new visa. If your attorney advised him to not apply for AP when he had the opportunity (and it was a lot less expensive than it is now)... well, that was just plain stupid. I sure hope your husband doesn't have a family emergency in England next week that requires him to be there! We see it all the time in this forum... and, sadly, USCIS has no compassion in such matters.

We know all about him not being able to leave the U.S. w/o AP. If he had applied for AP and had an emergency next week in England, he still would not be able to go due to the fact that it takes at least 3 months to obtain and in many recetn cases is approved close to the interview date. He did not need AP...he has no reason to go back, so why apply for it. And you CAN get emergency approval before receipt of the I-131 where an emergency arises prior to receipt by NBC of the I-131, the district office may accept and process the I-131 in emergent situations.

And by the way, that was not the focus of my reply....my reply was to start a timeline.

tamms,
Your timeline information is meaningless to others without knowing the District (Local) Office.

apologies.. misread the question... thought you wanted approximate dates for all USCIS applications.

Thought the I-765 was relevant... could be very wrong

It's OK, the information will be useful to someone, I'm sure. I think the OP was mainly interested in the I-765 as it pertains to being filed along with an AOS application.

The OP wanted to find out about any delay due to a (possible) extra load of applications being filed in one particular week due to the fee increase:

I was hoping to respond to this thread after I received my NOA1..but that has not yet happened and I am getting worried.

My AOS package was delivered at the Chicago lockbox on July 30. USCIS announced on their website on 8/31/2007 that they had completed data entry and issued receipt notices for applications and petitions received on or before 7/31/2007. I checked the website again today and I see that they are saying that as of 9/7/2007 that they have issued receipt notices for applications received on or after 8/15/2007.

Should I give it a few more days for it to come in the mail or should I go ahead and call the 800 number? Has anyone else with a similar timeline not yet received their NOA1?

Re: Sent your I-130/I-485 around July 30, 2007..?

Still nothing in mail today. :(

trying to recall..does the Chicago lockbox facility process all I-485 (sent with I-130) and then generate and send the NOA to the applicant? Or does the application package, after being delivered at the lockbox facility, get forward to some other facility (district office?) who generate and send the NOAs?

If it is the Chicago lockbox office that sends the NOA, I do not understand why it does not appear to be processing & sending out the NOAs in the order it receives the application packages, although the USCIS weekly updates claims they're processing things in order. It appears (from a visajourney forum) that there are several applicants who sent their package later than me have already had their checks cashed and have received their NOAs. Any ideas?

The NOAs are generated at MSC, I believe (Missouri Service Center), otherwise known as National Benefits Center.

We mailed our I-130/I-485/I-765 to Chicago on 7/18/07. Hubby's biometrics appt. was 8/27 in Cincinnati. We received all of the NOAs (on separate days) from MSC 2 weeks ago (last week of August). Hopefully, the next piece of mail will be the actual EAD....not expecting it until at least end of next month and then I will be very surprised.

I sent the package to Chicago only 10 days later than you...You already have had the biometrics appt! It is amazing how much difference there appears to be in our timelines.

On a slightly brighter note, I see that my checks have been cashed today. I was barely able to read the case number assigned on the back of the checks..I think MSC are the starting letters..although I thought that USCIS case numbers could only start with EAC, LIN, WAC or SRC? And nothing comes up on the status when I enter the whole 13 digit number on the online status checking link.

My husband and I sent the whole package on July 23. We are going through the New York office.
On August 13 the checks got cashed and on August 15 I received a notice for the biometrics. The appointment was scheduled for September 5. I went through the fingerprinting on September 5, as I was supposed to.
On September 6, I received the NOAs (a bit reversed here)
Right now, writing this message on September 26, I received an email from USCIS saying that my card was ordered for production and it should take 30 days for it to get delivered.
All in all, the timeline is exactly the same as the USCIS posts on their website with regards to the New York processing center.

Biometrics appointment was on Sep 5
Notification of the EAD card ordered for production on Sep 26
Notice of Action for an interview received on Sep 28
Interview scheduled for Nov 13

Going through the New York office.
Any updates from anyone else?

Good for you. I had only sent in my AOS 5 days after you. It must be that 99% of folks who beat the fee increase sent in their AOS on July 28 (Saturday) ! I wish I had sent mine a few days earlier. I envy you!

Thanks for posting your update. I can not wait to see how long it takes for us to receive the EAD card and the AOS interview notice/date after the fingerprinting on Oct 10. Knowing your AOS interview date, it will probably be too optimistic to think that that ours will be before the end of the year.

Good luck with the interview! I know I shouldn't be, but I am already nervous about ours in December.

Thank you, tamms_1965!
I am very nervous about the interview and technically I do not have a good reason to be nervous. I will post the result of mine and the process I went through after the interview
