A Nor'easter is running up the coast, should start dumping snow at on the evening rush hour. Maybe 6 or 7" expected here. I think it already started further North.

It started snowing earlier than expected in CT, around 11:30 am, and so far we have about two inches and counting.

Yep.. I just got home. Highway was ok, just wet, but the ramps and bridges are freezing and I couldnt get up my driveway without clearing it.

Sounds miserable. Cape Cod, rain, high winds and coastal flooding predicted (presumably already happening) but too warm for snow. We (much further north and inland) have beautiful weather going forward, and no rain in the foreseeable future.

Been snowing for a couple hours down this way, but not really building up.

FIL was saying how they've had a few inches of snow out in the Maine woods that a lot of folks left work early as they were getting snow tyres on this weekend, so the 3 hr drive home is probably going to take a couple hours extra.

Mental.

I got my snows fitted a couple of weeks ago. My car only weighs about 20lbs though (Miata), so they dont help much.

I had a problem with my Camaro (1968) when it was light on gas so I went to the building salvage yard and got some sash weights and bolted them down in the trunk. I left them in all year because my summer mileage improved. I found the problem that first winter when I had to back up and take a run at getting into the gas station in our first winter storm together.

We used to use a couple bags of cat litter type stuff in the boot to even the weight out a little. Surprising how a little extra weight helped balance things out a bit when out in the boonies.

Was wondering about you JG. Sounds like you're safe at least. Are you back in the UK ?

When winging around past another neighbouring town, it was a little weird how part of the town still looked munted with busted trees and utility poles all over the place, but then the other end of the town looking like a picture postcard of autumnal leaves. Weird that there were any leaves still on the trees, never mind in pretty colours :/

This is true in odd spots here near me too. So many leaves came down in the hurricane and then the subsequent early snowfall of the nor'easter, but a few hardy trees seemed to have held onto their leaves through both...and now those leaves are turning beautiful colours. What a weird autumn!
