Salem End Road, Framingham
Found an apartment in Salem End Road, Framingham which we liked and was within our budget (don't want to spend too much on rent because saving to buy our own home) but was wondering what the area was like?
Does anyone have any idea? How safe it is and so on?
Any tips would be much appreciated!

Over all, unless it's north Framingham. The town is a shit hole.
Great location, great place to work, great road links....but a shit hole.
It's not unsafe, but and not that you'll see it, but it's where the drug dealers and pimps live. The bosses all live else where.
That said. There are nice parts.
But this is off Rt9 and that is a cock with a capital C. No two ways about it. It is a car park, pretty much any time of the day and a nightmare to drive and made worse in winter. It's a nightmare to get on/off of Rt to get to this area.
It's in the middle of nowhere too.
You're a few miles down the road from Southborough, not much town feel, but a much, much nicer area. Natick is a few miles the other way, got Holliston, Ashland, Wayland, Sudbury....so many nicer options. Ashland and Sherbourne might be better value but really depends on your budget and where you've got to go for work.
Natick to Boston downtown, 13 miles, can do that in 20 mins at 2pm, 40 mins if you leave before 7am but 1-1.5hrs if you leave 7:15 and the school buses are out with everyone else :/

yeah. Agree with Bob. I live down the road in Needham. I wouldnt move to Framingham, its not the nicest area.
Mind you, it depends on what you are used to. If you live in the arse end of London, then you might see it as OK.

An ex-worker moved from England to a large apartment building on this street. I don't think they were too thrilled either with the apartment or the location. Really, you have to drive everywhere from there and, as Bob points out, that drive is Route 9.
