Sad but I need to know where to by bed linen!!!
OK, this is how my life has plunged to the depths of being tragic.
Where on earth do people buy things like duvet covers and curtains, voiles, curtain poles etc etc??? We have got our new place now but it needs everything. I have done the usual Pottery Barn, Bed bath and beyond, Nordstrom, Macy's and Bloomingdales and can't find anything I like or can afford! Oh for a Next or Mark and Spencer! :o C'mon you lovely lot, where shall I go to get my stuff??? |

Re: Sad but I need to know where to by bed linen!!!
same problem, the duvet cover I like is $450 FFS..
www.roomandboard.com they have some nice plain, modern ones and nice ones for kids as well, still quite pricey though.. www.westelm.com again modern but lovely and reasonably priced, they had an offer on for free shipping for 'window treatments' (god I hate that expression), not sure if its still on, their catalogue has more choice than the website.. Only problem with these two is the duvet covers I have tried to order are out of stock for a couple of months..hopefully you'll have better luck :) More traditional styles can be found at www.wshome.com gorgeous stuff but *****ing expensive.. |

Re: Sad but I need to know where to by bed linen!!!
Well for bed stuff (certainly for sheets) and curtain poles etc. Target is a good bet.
Sometimes you can get decent bedding (Laura Ashley/Hilfiger/Ralph Lauren) cheaply in Marshalls or TK Maxx. I usually buy duvet covers in M&S, Debenhams or Laura Ashley on trips to Blighty LOL! Curtains are a nightmare to buy in the States....they never seem to line them if you buy ready-made ones. I only have blinds now. |

I'm poor, I bought mine from Wally-mart :(. Yes it's crap and it tears easily but it gets the job done.

If I had a UK sized duvet though I would definately order one from Next, M&S etc and have it sent over, even with shipping it would still probably be cheaper.. |

Target....walmart...*lol*
If you were in maine I'd say go to Freeport, it's a outlet town, and everythings pretty cheap there for quality stuff...but bed bath beyond and linen and things ain't bad... |
Re: Sad but I need to know where to by bed linen!!!
I searched for 12 months for decent bedding and curtains but never managed to find anything decent. I still don't understand the different grades of cotton sheets they have over here. I don't think you can beat regular 100% cotton fitted sheets from any of the main stores in England.
I buy my bedding and curtains whenever I visit England. I have also chosen bedding on Next.co.uk or M&S website then given my Mum the details and she has bought them for me (I do pay her back) and sent them over. I am waiting to see if and when Next start delivering here. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful but I just don't like the bedding here. |

I am not too into the "traditional" stuff that seems to be everywhere, so I just looked at Next online and my mum sent me a few of those catalogues that appear in Womans Own that often have buy one get one free (Marshall Ward or something) and had her take them out of the packaging and mail them over to me! You can pick up some Pottery Barn stuff on Ebay too, for a little cheaper - I got sofa covers on there brand new for a 1/3 of the price. :) |
