Re: Ruston, Louisiana?
Oh holy Jeez.. I have always wanted to move to Louisiana but Bob, this is *northern* Louisiana. All the problems and none of the charm.
And, not to be a snob, but look at the median income compares on the epodunk link....
I know our forest products clients have a bunch of mills out there.

the idea of checking out baton rouge and new orleans had some appeal, but those are about 200-300 odd miles away...

yeah, that's what I was fearing...shite economy, shite education and complete no safety net, even worse than Utah as a one off outfit in the event of getting bounced...

If you're looking for job security, don't look on this side of the Atlantic. Doubt much that you will find any where in the US that is secure in terms of being let go with no recourse from you any where.

Re: Ruston, Louisiana?
true, but I was thinking of fall back companies if you get bounced, this is a one shot place...at least Utah has a couple other companies...but I'd certainly prefer to stay in a hub, so Mass and Maryland for the east coast, chicago, NC and then Austin/Plano Texas...West coast would be next choice, but not that keen, even though that is the biggest hub
