Congratulations Rockgurl...good on you!
According to the news this morning, it's all done purely to get the Christian Conservatives to vote for him next year who didn't turn out last time.

Congrats for saturday Rockgurl. I hope you have a fantastic day!!http://www.discodelic.netfirms.com/party-bestwishes.gif

Not really nervous, but very much looking forward to it.
We were married in the evening, I didn't feel nervous all day. But as I was saying the vows I burst into tears, my husband (to be) who was holding both my hands looked horrified and was squeezing my hands so tight, as if to say - get a grip on yourself!! The female priest started crying, then a few of the guests starting crying. I was just overwhelmed I guess, but I managed to get it together eventually :o

I got married in the evening too. It was a close call though, my wife and her party were all getting ready at the wedding site, really cool place old fashioned texas type building, but they have on-site make up people and hairdressers and photographer etc.

I was entertaining my friends and familys from England so I took them to the nicest Mall in Dallas (Galleria) anyways I lost track of time, and totally forgot it was friday afternoon and it was 5.00....big problem RUSH HOUR...I quickly bundled all 16 of us into the rented ford family van and took them to there hotel....ok I was planning to get married at 6.30pm, so by the time I managed to drop them off and get back to my apartment it was 5.55pm.

After a VERY quick shit, shower and shave I was out the door at 6.05 back to the hotel pick them up, then I had to get out to the wedding cottage...time 6.20 on the way to the cottage theres a BIG wreck, yossers driving, everyone else in the back drinking and getting pissed.

anyways I stay cool as a cucumber and everyone is amazed I'm not freakin out, I get out of the bus, and proceed to change into my tux in the car park.....6.30 on the dot Yossers in place big grin on my face.....just in time for Mrs Yosser to come walking down the isle.:D

How's that for timing;)

Brilliant!

We were married in the Priest's living room, which is part of the church building. The church is across the street from us, the wedding was at 8pm, so we left the house at 7:45pm - no rushing about! It was a very small wedding, only 9 guests, then we all went to an Italian place up the road for dinner and lots of wine! We couldn't decide where to go to eat so the Priest chose the restaurant.

Met Ray at work, known each other for a couple of years for chats, then one Xmas party in the social club at work I took him home..... 3 weeks later he proposed by putting a Bruce Springstein Album on the record player - 'The River' - told me to listen to this track and played "Little Girl I want to Marry You"

Our 20th Anniversary next year - he must have been the bravest 'young' man alive (26) and I was a divorcee with two girls of 9 and 7....... :) :)

Met her at a summer camp in Hendersonville NC, both of us were working as camp counselors and we hit it off straight away, she sat across from me at dinner the first night, i came back to her parents house in KY after we took a three week road trip around the USA, lived there for a month then returned to Blighty.
We did the whole "across the pond" thing for a year and during that year we looked for ways to be together. I managed to get into uni here on the strength of my solid! GCSE results and after another summer of camp i returned to KY and have lived here ever since. We got married last year (June), i proposed by kicking everyone out of the house, four dozen roses, 100 candles, her favourite meal and a ring hidden in the cheesecake, which upon reflection is a very cheesy way of giving her the ring but hey, it worked!!! Heres a pic of the happy couple:

Hey, I wanna post my wedding pic too! ;)

There are only 2 of Todd and I together in the same pic because we had a fight and someone ripped them up! :p

I'll find one of those later!

OOh look at you Brigie, what a lovely picture.
And that's why we have to have a renewal ceremony (eventually) because our original wedding pics are naff!

BrigieDarling Nov 7th 2003 7:59 am

The only other one I have of Todd and I together makes me look wasted... maybe if I have a beer tonight I'll come back and scan it too! ;)

PS Todd's parents are on the right! (I was disapointed that his mother wore black.... LMAO)
