I'm a permanent resident of the US. I just noticed my passport runs out this July and I had planned to be in the UK at that time for a couple of months. Is it possible to apply for a renewal from over there? Obviously i'll need it to get back here after July

You can renew it in the UK. If you're there for a couple of months you have plenty of time.

Excellent, thank you! Yeah, i'll fly out before it expires and apply for it when I land so it comes back in time to return to the US!

My son who lives in Tenby Wells renewed his in February and it took 10 days, so short of a total disaster at the passport office you have ample time.

I did mine last year in the UK - it arrived back (in Gloucester) on the eighth day after it was mailed - mailed on Tuesday, was delivered back on Wednesday the following week.

Yours took longer than mine and I'm in Canada.
