Dry heat in Texas:confused: I always thought it was sweatier than a fat mans crotch there when it warms up?

Without wanting to admit to getting too close to fat mens crotches, I'd pretty much say you'd hit the nail on the head there matey! At least darn sarf, anyway..

hot hot hot

If you dont think Dallas is dry, try Houston! or England for that matter! Ha! Yes Dallas and Houston are both in TX but are quite different in the humidity department. The humidity here makes Houston feel like the Sahara! I think some of these people 've never left their A/C living room!.

Fortunately its much cooler here this week, so there's not much point in comparing apples with oranges just now.

I spent my first 3+ decades in England. I never got wet walking out the door. Dallas is a jungle without the compensation of long dangly vegetation. We don't have a car so we don't have the a/c to cushion us. Going to the shop for a bag of spuds is like swimming through stew - hot stew! Roll on winter!

You don't have a car in Dallas, my god how on earth do you get
around?

I tried walking to my local tom thumb, the other day and gave up
there was hardley any foot paths, and when I did find one, it was flooded by the sprinkler systems, so I gave up and went home, I guess I will have to be like the yanks and drive to the store just to get a loaf of bread

and to think everyone in the U.S is worried about obesity in kids....I wonder why??????

My first summer here in 2000, it was over 100 deg for 2months straight, lake levels dropped by 40 feet, this year has been pretty good, considering.

Slowly - and :mad: in the face!

It's killing me to be without wheels for the first time since forever but we're dirt poor till I get a job, after which we'll just be poor :D

Try carrying your sick kid through it, onto the Dart rail, off again and through mud with no pavements to the docs, where you have to take your shoes off and wash them in the restroom sink before they usher you into isolation cos your kid has a fever. Loaf o' bread? Nuthin' to it!

Oh despite everything I'll take the heat over an English winter any day of the week :D

"Try carrying your sick kid through it, onto the Dart rail, off again and through mud with no pavements to the docs"

you rode the Dart, blimey taking your life in your own hands there.

D= Driving
A= african americans
R= round
T= town

Quoted by a american citizen, not me.

My wife and I share a car, and its bloody hard work, the public transport system sucks, partically if you live in the suburbs.

Anyways, like you said, I much rather wear shorts 8 months of the year, I hate the cold.

Really. You didn't just type that up there, then?

Actually I find the DART itself pretty reliable. I've never felt I was taking my life in my hands apart from on the streets where the pavements suddenly run out on you and crossing the roads where mad drivers use their vehicles as weapons.

Also, I'm sure you'll be glad to know Dart is entirely unprejudiced. It really doesn't care whether you're American, English, Chinese, knock-kneed or bald. I know blind people who use it successfully and there are special arangements for those in wheelchairs. I'm told it will even carry rascists if they pay their $2.50 - not something I'm very happy about myself but then I don't make the rules!!!

It was just a little bit of humor...(well I found it funny).

Well thats good, I am going through the hair folically challenge thing myself....you can all take the piss, I've heard all the good ones.....I blame it on my dad myself, and his dad before him.

Only bald people worry about being bald. Most women don't give a rip about it. The only time bald looks bad IMO is when people grow a clump of hair by the side of the bald patch and try to hide it. It ALWAYS shows. I don't think they let you on DART if you do that.

Yeah I done the baseball cap for a bit, buts its way to hot in Texas for that all day, every day.

I have the #2 shaved all over look (except for the scalp where its a natural #0), I think I look like Vin Diesel, my missus and the kids laugh till they cry.

Actually that was exaggeration for comedic effect: I am currently sporting a luxuriant "pre-BMW Hugh Grant" floppy public school haircut to go with my floppy public-school accent.

Coincidentally though, people have told me that my haircut makes me look like Arthur Diesel, who works behind the Giro counter in the Post Office in Dawlish Warren. Small world, what?
