Recently Divorced Brit Marrying a USC, question
Will I need my divorce papers in order to marry here in the US?
We planned to get married on the 23rd, the final paperwork has taken longer than anticipated and thus its getting a little close... it is finalised I simply don't have the paper that says it is.
No VISA issues exist here so please don't be hatin ( you know who you are ).

Wasn't there an Eastenders storyline like this?

Divorced Applicants: Are required to know the Month/Day/Year/City and State of their divorce. The divorce must be final and filed with the courts in the state or country granted. You are not required to bring the divorce decree.

because I didn't know a USmarriage section existed... I've had this forum bookmarked for the past 3 years.

Chicago, Cook County.
Applicants who have divorced within the last six months must provide a certified copy of their divorce decree upon applying for a marriage license.

Try looking up the requirements for the county you'll be married in.
