Hopefully that answered your question then. The salary stated in your opening post is not that great, even here in Texas where the cost of living is a lot less than some States. It is however a job. If you take it, at least you'll know exactly what you are doing. I presume you are going to apply for the other job you found. There is nothing to stop you accepting the first job whilst seeking the other.

I don't know anything about Texas, but isn't San Antonio one of the swankier parts?

In general (and that is all we know as the OP didn't include a particular area of San Antonio), the medium income and house values are lower than the Texas average (and less than average the U.S. average). Of course, it all depends on where in San Antonio the OP plans to live.

Over 1/5 of all jobs in San Antonio are in construction or the 'accommodation and food' industry.
