Purse/ Handbag question
Hi,
my niece has asked me that if in US talk a handbag(uk) is a purse(us), so what is a purse (the money carrying device i'm not allowed to touch)

Unless you're a Brit in the US then a handbag is a handbag...a purse is a purse...and a wallet is a wallet.

It's called a Pocketbook in Boston too...
I had a mini freak-out over that one.. I was in my third month here and had been overwhelmed at the level of differences in the two languages..
"It doesn't go in your pocket and it's not a F&%king BOOK !!!" I believe was my retort..
I've learnt a certain amount of grace since then...
