Default purchasing a flight ticket and paying it off in installments

does this kind of thing exist here in the U.S?? any websites or known travel agencies that do this type of thing??

I know a few travel agencies do this in London...so I'm just asking......

Sure. It's called using a credit card. It's the American way.

Yes very true thats the only option here. Personally I dislike credit cards but they are one of the ways to build a credit history and report here. Something we have to live by which I dislike but just have to get on with it unfortunately.

Continental Airlines (now merged with United) operates some kind of scheme like this - no interest to pay but you have to pay within 6 months:

......So if one chooses the "Bill Me Later" option it really is best to pay it all off within 6 months....otherwise the interest rate is around 20%

It's like that with most things that are advertised interest free, all those furniture adverts etc.

Interest free if paid off within x months, if you don't pay it off in that time, or late on any payment, the interest is applied and back dated. They really get you with this if they say no need to make payments within 12 months, they just don't tell you if you don't, the above applies

mmm I tried applying for bill me later via paypal sometime this year and got denied....still working on improving my credit score
