Re: Price of gas update...
Canadian oil is so low, Alberta is so screwed and it will pull our dollar and rest of country down with it.
Bitumen-blend Western Canadian Select (WCS) crude, which trades in lockstep with WTI, closed at US$9.12 per barrel, a level that translates to less than half as much for the bitumen after subtracting the costs of buying light petroleum blend.

Keeps falling, hitting levels not seen in 20 years now, how low will it go.....
Alberta oil a barrel is apparently now cheaper than a barrel of monkey's (a game for those who don't know.) oh Alberta is so screwed, their provincial budget was based on $58/barrel and its like under $7 now and expected to keep falling. It's of course bad for Canada in general as well but hurts Alberta really hard since their economy relies so much on oil still.
"Western Canadian Select (WCS) was selling for $6.45 US a barrel Thursday, down $2.84 US from a day earlier. That's below last week's record when it sold for as low as $7.63 US a barrel."

It really doesn't matter here, we are not supposed to drive anyway......
However, we are seeing huge town v country ranges here in the UK - one leading supermarket has 95RON at £1.029 per litre at an in-town outlet 15 miles away, but 1.179 at the superstore 5 miles from me. A 15p per litre difference, purely based on geography.

I wonder if Florida's generally meh attitude towards current international events has kept our fuel prices up? They are low but nothing near what others are reporting. High $1.80's locally, working 80 miles south of here in Punta Gorda it was down to $1.759 yesterday.
Edit: More specifically the meh attitude of red counties between Tampa and Naples. I'm still filling up the truck 3 times a week...

Well I need to go shopping and will probably go to Breckenridge, somewhere I would studious avoid on a Saturday at the height of the ski season. Last week you could count the number of cars on Main Street on one hand.
Yes you see traffic on the roads and it is difficult to calculate how much less traffic there is but must be 50% plus down. I assume there has been a reduction in production but that will take time to work through, they must be running out of storage capacity.
The Hotels are closed, and the Bars, Restaurants and seemingly the Shops as there is no business, so as well as the skiers all the people who work in the tourist businesses have no need to go anywhere.

Same here - places in NC that in recent years have had gas around the same price or lower than many of the areas reporting prices above ^ in recent days, are now stalled out around 40c more than the cheapest places. Not that it really matters as I haven't bought gas this week, won't need to buy gas next week, and probably not the week after either.

Re: Price of gas update...
After 2 weeks of sustainable drops, its been holding steady in the 0.97 to 0.99 per liter range on the low end.
Remove the taxes from 97 cents per liter, and retail price being charged is 60 cents per liter, wonder how low they can actually go before its not worth selling anymore?
Some stations are now giving $10 gas credit to paramedics, nurses, doctors and such.
Of course price really doesn't matter much to most now considering the lack of driving majority of the population here is doing these days.
0.97 CAD = approx 0.69 USD$ at current exchange rate.
