There are some good supermarket deals right now. Safeway you can earn up to $1 per gallon off at Chevron.

It's been trickling up and down lately.

Cheapest around is $3.21G at the bulk store, but it's 4 pennies more at the one in town.

Regular places are $3.30-3.45G.

Default AMEX Gas offers

Posted these elsewhere - guess I should have done this here.

AMEX Gas offers.

Effectively 20% off gas at BP until the end of the year.

What's gone on? Last week I paid $3.07. This morning I paid $3.35.

It never comes down as quickly as it goes up, that's for sure.

Not sure what caused the little spike recently (though it still ranges between $3.12 and $3.29 on my six mile drive to work ) but it does seem, in general, to be slowly going down.

I'd love to see it crack the $2.99 mark, I've seen it as a 'with wash' price in the last few days.

Early yesterday morning, on my way to work, most stations were showing $2.97, as they had all week. Late afternoon, when I called my wife to tell her that I was leaving work for home, she mentioned that gas prices were $3.15, so on my way home I stopped at CostCo gas a day earlier than planned and paid $2.93. For some reason, CostCo is always a day or two behind the others in changing its prices.

On my previous fill, 9 days before, the price had been $2.77.

Supposedly there's a shortage of gasoline in Florida right now, because for some unknown reason, 97% of Florida's gasoline has to be shipped in and with all these extra Canadians everywhere and the holidays, the demand has gone right up.

Seems like they could predict such circumstances, as they happen every single year at exactly the same time.

Just a WAG, but I suspect the reason that gasoline has to be shipped into Florida is that there are no oil refineries in Florida. I wonder how the remaining 3% gets there?

Good question. Considering there's rigs out in the Gulf of Mexico, you'd think they could put a pipeline in - they tried just letting it wash up on shore, but that didn't prove popular.

It's getting near to Thanksgiving. Prices always go up near holidays as they know lots of people will need to travel.

Been slowly going up recently here too. I expect it to go way up on Monday.

It never got as low down here as it did for a bunch of you folks

I understand the joke, but pedantry forces me to point out that oil rigs in the Gulf produce crude oil that needs to be refined to convert a portion of it into gasoline. And that a pipeline is nevertheless a form of 'shipping'.
