Okay, so a bit of a drive and a day trip...but the Paw Sox...just found out that our library and a bunch of others offer a flat family ticket of $18 for up to 6 people, which is great value.

I've just seen a guidebook entitled "Boston With Kids" in the Harvard Co-op in Harvard Square. If you're near a good bookshop/library it might be worth having a look for a copy.

Just found out that if you get a membership to the Children's museum in Boston, you can use that pass to get into the Kids Discovery museum in Acton for free and also the Ecotarium in Worcester.
The Ecotarium is a really nice place too, especially the summer, the have a tree canopy you can walk through, a really nice kids playground, trails around a few ponds and the like and some great animals.
There's also a couple supposedly good fish and chip shops down the street from the place too, but they were both closed when I last went by.
