I think you'll find that it takes a while to settle in here, so don't expect miracles on your first posting. There is so much going on the lives of the people who post here that maybe they are somewhat too distracted to reply to every post. Welcome to the board, in any case, and by all means post your picture if you would like.

I don't think I saw your first post, so maybe you could recap briefly and tell us why you're here. I'm awaiting my green card...see my timeline below.

Guess we were very lucky, got our green cards in just over a year from the strat of out application...all pre 9/11...

Hello,

They are now called the BCIS (Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services) and they have centralized the service center phone numbers into one national number. Other than that, not much has changed. The security screening and background check procedures were changed. Cases seem to have long delays and are taking about a year and half from my own experience and some others on here who have been naturalized. Bush has passed the H1B1 program expanding non-greencard immigration and also wants to legalize illegals from Mexico via a guest worker visa program.

I wasn't too sure about the friendlyness this forum at first either, as I got into a disagreement with Pulaski almost immediately. I persisted here though, and now really enjoy visiting the site. Hope you do too. Welcome to the forum!

I notice on your website you are in Hudson, and I think there is another member here who must be nearby to you, although I'll leave it up to the person in question to announce themselves, in case they don't want it broadcast to the world.
