Pet migration
Hello all,
We are in promising talks with employers in the United States. We have one dog and one cat and are not leaving them behind.
What hoops do we have to jump through to get them there from the UK?
Thanks in advance.

Rabies shots, chips, and a health check by your vet. The rabies Shots need to meet the requirements of the state you're moving to as there are two different types of vaccine.
The cost will likely be somewhere between £1,000 and £3,000/ animal depending on airline and availability of room in the hold, the size of the animal, and how much of the work you are prepared to do yourself.

As mentioned above, rabies shot, must be chipped and a fit to fly cert issued at least 96hours before flying was what we needed to take our spaniel out from Glasgow to Vegas this past Monday. Was a Thomas Cook direct flight and cost around £600 (one way obviously), we dropped him at a cargo area and they did the rest. Vets fees were maybe another £200 on top. We were concerned about the heat out there at the time, but were assured all would be fine which it was.
