Oxford Sausages -- where to get?

Oxford Sausages -- where to get?
The wife and I were watching something on the BBC and they mentioned the unrivaled and unique taste of 'Oxford Sausages' while they were doing some documentary about Oxford or Markets or Sausages or trains or something (yea, I was really into the show).
Anyway, does anyone know the be-all, end-all place in Oxford to get said sausages? We'll be over for the Christmas holidays and thought we'd give it a try. The kids love sausage and bacon so we'll give it to them now while they are too young to worry about cholesterol and fat.

It's the veal that makes them Oxford. The market is great at Christmas - you'll see whole sides of pork and pheasants etc hanging up in the butchers, etc.

Thanks for the info. The wife re-watched the show (turned out it was Great British Railway Journeys) and it was the covered market.
Unfortunately for me it looks like it is closed over a bit of the holiday when we would be able to visit. Do you know any other good butchers? Guess it may have to wait for the next trip.
About minute 7:00 in this clip.

Unless you are thinking of visiting on Christmas Day I'm pretty sure the market is open most other days. Maybe the butchers close on a Sunday, I know the fishmongers are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Covered market, if your on the main Street, the butchers is on the entrance where the toilets are, just past the fish mongers.
The Wednesday market in Gloucester Green, also has a good butchers who does nice sausages.

Also a great butchers in Summertown, opposite where the old BMW dealer used to be, just past the book shop on the corner towards Squitchley Lane.

Though the one we used to go to for lunch at school closed... The chippy is pretty good though and the bakery is worth a visit and the Lebanese place is still about and a good cheap lunch.
Bit cold for punting, so wouldn't bother checking the Victoria Arms, never as good in winter, unless you like Morse, but the Trout is a great pub for lunch.
Wouldn't bother with the one in St Giles of Tolkien fame as it's tiny and crap and even more pretentious as you might expect.

I don't think they have released the opening times for Christmas this year, but last year it was early on Christmas eve, closed Christmas and Boxing Day. One year it was also closed the 27th too. I was actually originally planning on Boxing Day but now we might move our trip back to the 29th.
