Default Ot: Belly Up To The Bar And Post Your Experiences

I don't visit here as much these days but when I do I see approval, left, right and center for adjustment of status interviews, K-1 interviews, a few K-3 approvals, I-751 approval, SS experieces and POE experiences. And yet perhaps only 1 out of every 5 people update there experiences on the experience pages.

HEY FOLKS, that is what they are there for. Update them; refer people to them; use them yourself. They are a wealth of information that others have busted butts to put together for you.

So don't just come to the newsgroup, ask questions, get answers and then walk away when you are finished with a process. Leave your experiences for the future fiancees and spouses who will be walking in your shoes one day.

Here goes:

New to the wonderful world of US Immigration and Naturalization Services and the mind boggling forms, petitions and applications you need to complete and submit to have your foreign fiancée or spouse live with you in marital happiness within the borders of the US? Or are you an old hand at the process now and have completed one or more of the various steps along the yellow brick road and have met with and made friends with the Wizard behind Door Number 3.

I know England is the hub of the Universe, but what about the people that
make up the rest UK, like Wales, Northen Ireand and Scotland. I guess only
the English must find love in America.....

i know what you mean. i am english myself but have found abroad most people
think if you are a british citizen then you are english - the other countries
are just assumed to be part of england a lot of the time. there is a us embassy
in scotland. but you still have to go to the embassy in london, england, to
file papers. very unfair.

It is comments like these that make me wonder why the hell I continue to help others.

All the post is is an attempt to jog people into giving back a little and making others aware of what is available to them online.

Sorry if the inadvertent non-acknowledgement of your part of the world upsets you or incurs your wrath. Perhaps you would like me to sit in a corner with a thumb up my nose while you all flounder about looking for assistance instead of offering to put you on the correct path.

I hate this politically right attitude.

well....

i had to pop into the expats forum to see what on earth had incurred all this wrath? i had no idea this thread was anything to do with you, rete. I use a newsreader that just shows me one message at a time individually (had problems with this forum locking though it seems fine today). i certainly didn't mean to offend you or anyone else. was simply sympathising with someone who isn't english and was fed up of being labelled as such.

from their message, the impression i got was they were mad at ENGLAND - the way it treats other UK countries as appendages. i don't think they were getting at anyone individually - just letting off steam. i'm english myself so don't have a problem with the nonacknowledgement you speak of. but the other countries in the UK are fiercely independant and proud of their own cultures and heritage and i don't see anything wrong in that.

for the record, i think the fact that you spend so much time advising and helping people on this board is brilliant and i, for one, am very grateful for every bit of help i've received. i hope i manage to give something back from time to time. this whole process is so hard to deal with - sometimes this board is the only thing that keeps me sane. seriously didn't mean to offend.

If you want to get all huffy and sit in a corner may i suggest a world
atlas for some good reading and to increase your geographical
knowledge. A thumb up your nose is not very productive.

There are only two sets of people in the world, the English and the colonials, you have to accept that if your not English you belong to one of our colonies and as such don't deserve your own independant mention. God save the Queen! Rock on Rete.
