These people are concerned that your group does more harm than good. Making a noise (something which you are very good at BTW) can move you forwards or backwards. IMO, your noise more often moves the goals backwards.

Don't live anywhere near the sea unless you have money to throw away....
I can't see the problem people have with the place...I think you just have to live there for a while and work out if its for you or not...
Most of my neighbours have moved to Orlando from all over the USA...and they love it there...

Well said and yes a great shame some people are just trying to be unhelpful, catty or just plain bitchy these people do not have a clue cos if they did they would offer assistance to the committee instead
Just look at the victim support group, very brave people for sharing their immigration stories of being scammed out of thousands. Only a couple of weeks ago yet another so called Visa specialist was reported to the Bar Assn and police and as a result two more are behind bars. Can't wait for the Christmas party, seems about 60 are going

Still what goes around comes around and one day these type will eat their words or need our helpThe forum has a very serious side as well as an out of the box section and tons more. Shame some people are so sad or bitter and twisted I just can't understand why they visit the site at all, certainly do not need people like that

thanks for all the responses
found that website will give them a shout plan on playin im 31 so theres a bit of life in the oul dog yet.
figure orlando as its the right side of the country for flights home ppl visitin etc plus i could do with the sunshine west coast ireland get a hellava lot of pissy weather.
been there a few times too so have a fair idea what its like. gun crime seems to have gone bananas. been checkin out orlando sentinel online and there interactive guide to crime
from what i can see as long as i dont start dealing drugs or messin round with an other fellas lady i should be safe enough
no state tax is a plus too. rent seems about the same here but you get a lot more house for the money in nice areas like lake mary. cars are feic all although i did get a few motor insurance quotes online and there nothing cheap there.
i know every city has its good and bad but what i would like is
hot weather
access to sea/lakes for boating
plenty of active things to do(get enough culture at home)
good nite life
low cost of living
nice place for the family and friends to visit with loads of things for them to do when they getting on my nerves
low crime
job opps
orlando seems to tick the boxes bar the last two but you cant have everything. san diego was running a close second but the cost of living is huge and its a fair haul to get to.

Good luck to your Robert. YES, all of those things above are here. BUT, you will have to work about 60 hours a week to be able to afford to live here. Wages are poor. Health care very expensive. AND the work ethic here is work, work, work. As far as I see there ain't any people having much fun here. People are miserable, hot and broke.
Good Luck!! We have been here nearly 3 years (we also won the greencard in the diversity lottery), but feel now that our lives back in the UK were much more abundant and fun, so were area heading back in 2008/09, our exit strategy is now in place.

Some people just do not have a clue do they ? but thats not surprising because all they do is pick holes yet never come to a committee meeting or offer any help at all, if they did then they would be in a position to judge, so sad some people

Surprisingly enough, again, there are others who work on immigration issues in our community. However, they tend to proceed forwards instead of backwards. Unless you can curb the "little englanders" in your membership, many will decide their time can be more profitably spent elsewhere pursuing our common goal.
The only sadness is that your introspective skills are absolutely zilch.

.I never knew what being poor was until I moved to the USA...its so sad that such a large Great country like the USA has so many poor people...dirt poor...Would I move back to the UK...not really...this is home now...and we have done better here than we would of in the UK even with all our ups and downs in the US...
Hope you have an easy move back to the UK...I sometimes feel a little jealous of people who move back...but I kinda know its not for us at this time...I miss England like I miss my first home...my old friends and my younger days...I don't think its the place I remember anymore...for us anyway....

I do work probably 50-60 hours a week, by choice, but I love my job, and I am rewarded both financially and emotionally. Ever since I got here, I've been allowed to show up when I want, leave when I want, and all I had to do was get the job done in the way I saw fit. I received promotions and raises more often than I expected. Back in the UK, there was a 'clock watching' mentality, everyone went 'down the pub' at lunch time with corresponding drops in productivity afterwards, and if I stayed late to try to finish off some assignment I'd be teased by my fellow workers for 'brown-nosing' or 'not having a life' or whatever. People around me who were less capable were given promotions based on length of service and/or who they knew.
Health insurance is a mess, for sure, and the annual vacation allowance (and corresponding sick-leave concept) is awful, but I put up with that because of all the other advantages. But I'll concede it's not great for everyone, which is why I'm curious about the line of work.
I have friends in UK making bucket-loads of money, and enjoying a comfortable life. They tend to be in financial services, medicine, law. When I left, engineering was a dirty word and the salaries were pathetic.
Good luck!
