Sweet? Hmmmmmm. Blair... I like the man (so STONE me!) though I think he's misguided.
I have met and dealt with him on many occasions myself and i like him as well. I happen to belive he is a pretty sincere man actually with strong pashion for others and a good heart. But he is also a damn good politician so he knows when to eat his own words.

[i]The biggest thing I learnt was how little a little person can achieve on their own. So I have learned respect for people who go into politics hoping to change things. But somehow politics changes people too.... Agendas get lost....
[i] Someone once said, all that is necessary for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing. I believe that. I just wish we were using that knowledge to justify bombing a few less civilians and feeding a few more starving nations..
Thats so true and its easy to criticise when you havent been in to try to do it. professional politics is a soul testing experience let me tell you and its easy to forget the point of it when you just think about your election and career success. and i would throw in a qoute of my own here that i always liked and used to remind me to keep going when it seemed pointless.

"Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it." - Mahatma Ghandi

The other line by the way it was Edmund Burke the 18th century British/Irish Politician. Though as i understand it he said ‘When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.’ this was the quote in his book 'Reflections on a Revolution in France'. He may have paraphrased it in a speech as well but no one has ever really found it exactly so the usual form is "All that is necessary for the
forces of evil to succeed/triumph is for enough good men to do nothing." and its attributed to him.

regards,

Duncan

I like that one very much. Did you know Ghandi hated that title of Mahatma they gave him? I read his book recently - painfully honest about himself as much as about the world.

Thanks for the info on that one. Burke is definitely the name that rings bells

Wasn't this, wasn't that! What on earth are you blabbering on about Patrick. One second you don't remember Kuwait, the next second you're a Gulf War vet!

What next for Patrick? Did he fight alongside Colin Powell in Vietnam as well?

ROFL

Patrick, you've been exposed as a fool and now a fraud as well. Put the dunce cap on pal, then shut up and sit down!

I have realised that you cannot have any kind of discussion with you because you take sentences out of peoples posts and use them out of context and put slants on them that don't exist. I am not a fraud or a lier, but you are indeed an arsehole. If your only purpose in life is to irritate people then congrats you are succeeding.

Now take your condesencion and stick it as far up your arse as you can.

Ohhh Dr.Scrumpy really hits where it hurts. He's really good at taking random insults from his big-book of bad phrases and slinging them at anyone he can regardless of the relevance.

Listen Dr.Scrumpy, you do kiss Arab arses because the mere fact that Bush has taken Udays out of existence has frustrated you. I can read the bitterness in each of your posts.

OK, so now my crime is to use your own words against you? Patrick, who the hell do you think you are - Bill "I did not have sexual-relations" Clinton? Get a grip pal, if you make some pronouncement or claim on this forum and then can't back it up expect to be challenged. If you're not man enough to face the challenge then like I said before, put on your dunce cap and sit in the corner.

I am not a fraud or a lier
Listen pal, let me put this into real simple terms:

On one thread you stated Saddam Hussein never invaded any other country (forgetting Kuwait 1990).

Then on another you claimed you were a Gulf War vet.

Now unless we are in some sort of parraklell universe here where right is wrong, black is white and day is night - those two points prove that you're not just a whinger but a LIAR as well.

The sign of a poor intellect is a person who has to resort to Ad Hom attacks against other posters because they're incapable of constructing a sensible, mature debate, or just cannot handle the fact their side of the argument is wrong.

Something tells me that u get the Psychriatric nurse to read it to you. I do not need a big book of insults, I would bttle wits with you, but youare obviously unarmed.

Never actually met an arab to kiss his or her anatomy on any part.
Saving my kisses for the lovely lady I am going to marry. Now hurry up and take those pretty blue pills that give you such peaceful dreams.

Doctor Scrumpy you are incapable of debating with me because rather than use logic and reasoning you preferr instead to throw insults which are so irrelevant to the arguement in question that you end up ridiculing yourself.

Your entire critique of my post seems to be limited to the fact that in your warped view-point, I like to kiss Bush's ass. Wow, some analysis.

Now if you can climb out of the gutter in which you reside and are prepared to make some valid points in defence of your hero Saddam, I would only have one piece of advice for you - put the dunce cap on and sit in the corner.

I can only assume you spend so much time on here because your girlfriend has a puncture.

Did I hear someone mention dunce caps? You seem to bring this subject up a lot - I wonder why? Could it be anything to do with your atrocious spelling, I wonder?

Regardless

Oh yeah? At least I don't spend my romantic sessions with a piece of pigs-liver.

Hell, I feel so violated - I've just dropped into the same cesspool that Doctor Scrumpy lives. Oh well, thats life!
