Default Old College Transcripts

Trying to get Southport (Liverpool-ish) college transcripts from 26 years ago. Apparently they only keep them on record for 10 years and according to one of the college admins, there's no old archive.

1. Can anyone verify that this correct or had similar issues?

2. The job I've been offered "requires" transcripts. Is there anything that's equivalent? They won't accept the graduation certificate or progress reports.

Any help greatly appreciated

It is highly likely - the examination board might have them on record if you know who the College used.

I think the real issue is iron clad proof of having a degree. Many people have claimed college graduation and its later proven they have lied about it.
A notarized letter from your college stating the dates you attended and degree received is the only option you have. Your college could also mention in the letter their policy of how long they keep
Complete records.

I had a letter from one of my Universities that they no longer had them. The verification service does a good job of making sense of what they are given; so US hiring/enrolling staff can make sense of it.

So the alternative is use a verification service, when you do it, tell them what the requirements are (what is the employer looking for in the transcripts?)

I remember when I needed mine back in 2001. My old school of nursing no longer existed and had been taken over by the University of Middlesex. Lucky the hospital my school of nursing was in still existed and they kept all records on a microfilm in the basement in a cardboard box. It took them 6 weeks to find it but find it they did (thankfully, or I wouldn't be here). I needed more than just a letter of attendance as I had to fulfill certain hour criteria in several areas of nursing to be eligible to take the NCLEX exam. I'd call again and dig a bit more, because you might be lucky in speaking to someone who knows if those records were kept somewhere. Good luck.
