Delighted to see this news, I watched it live.
There's a lot of work to be done, but my love for the United States may well reemerge

Re: Obama wins.
I am so pleased!
The religious right seemed powerless. Elizabeth Dole (incumbent senator from North Carolina) called her opposition 'Godless' and she lost her seat. Obama has 'turned' (Republican to Democratic) multiple states (Florida, Ohio, Iowa, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, and ... Virginia - Republican since 1964 or so I heard on CNN driving home).
And now, as he goes forward and governs, he will show those weirdos who think he's a satan-worshiping, terrorist-loving, monster that he is in fact just a hard working guy, and this will pave the way for others.
So finally - after 8 years of the worst President (and Vice President!) in our history, we can kiss George W goodbye and good-riddance! Wooooo Hoooo!

Bring them on! I'll happily pay more taxes if I can get a better healthcare solution in the future, and not have to worry that the country I live in will be the target of terrorist attacks because my president goes around declaring war on other countries for no good reason.

McCain gave a very gracious speech. That was the McCain of old. You have to wonder what might have been if McCain hadn't lost his way (or his judgment).
