Exclamation O/T: The shape of things to come?

Presumably some credit card companies now think that as the new bankcruptcy bill has been signed into law, they can do anything they like.

I've said it before and will say it again (from first hand experience) don't walk, run from MBNA!!

This is why you never carry a balance from one month to the next unless it's 0%, and if they increase it from 0% for no reason, pay it all off and cancel the card. I haven't carried a balance since 1997, but I've got $100s back from cc companies through their points systems.

Ironically the bankruptcy bill was signed into law because credit companies complained that people going bankrupt were causing high interest rates for other consumers.

but if you do, it'll be the luck of the draw as to whether they help you...there biggest money earner is credit protection, but it's the biggest scam and the first thing they tell you to get rid off if your in trouble, that's if they don't blow you off...there doing this testing thing at the moment to see actually how many people that threaten to close there accounts actually do...apparantly

There's a chap at who posts on the Motley Fool (UK) who managed to get himself a total of GBP 100.000 on various 0% cards - all invested at ING...

Are there any 0% cards in the US? (Sorry if this sounds like a silly question, but since I'm still without a SS# it's been of mute interest until now - but (fingers crossed) I should be up and running in a month or so...)

In my case, it was the other way around. All card companies make money on Credit Protection. MBNA gave me the hard sell when I called to remove the protection from my cards. Goldfish did the same thing when I asked the same.

As far as I know, it doesn't stand for anything. It's just the company logo.

Up till now, MBNA has worked for me. As well as my other credit cards.
