No idea whatsoever
So I have no idea what so ever what forum to post this in, so I thought I would try here as you are a friendly bunch! Someone might know the answer for me!
I have just told the kids we would have to get rid of the hamster before we moved to the US on a K1. They were gutted!!!! So I did a bit of looking around on the net and found this on the customs & border US website. (cbp.gov) It says; As for rabbits, Guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, and other pet rodents, there are no CDC or USFWS restrictions or requirements on these animals if brought in as pets.
Does that mean I can just take the critter with us?? Of course I will check with United Airlines too, but the thing can stay in a little travel home under the seat.
Has anyone any experience doing this? I will have 3 happy kids if it is that easy!
Any input would be lovely ta.

haven't experienced it...but would hve thought it be expensive to do it....not to mention a bit of stress on the small animal...perhaps get them a new one over here would be easier? tough I know though

you could always just get them a new one at the other end and try to pass it off as the original (assuming you find the same colour/size)

I would check with the airline, like you said, and if they are OK with it, I guess if it can be with you on the flight, then I would probably go for it and take the chance that he/she makes it to the other end OK
