(I suspect they actually mean the USA, rather than America).

Feel free to add your own reasons.

Celebrating plastic cheese?!!? really?

Velveeta along with Cool Whip are the food crimes of the century, I don't understand their popularity.

Velveeta makes a mean grilled cheese sandwich ... only good for melting.

You know, the ones which are always a very bright color and just have an elastic strip band thingy around the waist ?? Very humorous to see, gives me a laugh every time.

Thank you USA

Valet parking? Someone needs to return to the real world.

The space pen actually is kind of cool. I've had one around for about 20 years now, and it always works. But I don't know if it's great enough to make the list.

It can be useful for backpacking too.... if you can stand the taste. Never goes bad. (Or at least 'badder' than it started.)

I call it, and American cheese meant for burgers, "sweaty cheese". You'd NEVER just eat it ... but melted it's not bad.

the pencil was a cheaper solution to that problem though and unlike the wooden pencil they talk about, most use mechanical plastic pencils

We like AC too: each year, here in Redmond, WA, when we get the week or two of temperatures in the 80s, and sometimes touching the 90s, we wonder whether we should get AC installed in the house.

It just gets so unbearable with the weather so hot, but we always decide against it.
