Newbie saying hello
Hey all
Found this site a few days ago and have been having a look at some of the posts and FAQ's.
I live in Bracknell right now which is in Berkshire (south east England) and I really want to live and work in either the US or Australia. I have been to both a few times for holidays and travelling but would like to see how I get on living over there so ideally I would like to work for a year and see how I get on.
After doing some reading on the US board I think it is going to be very difficult for me to get over there and work as I dont really think I am eligible for any of the Visa's!!. I am definitely going to look into it some more though - it would be really good to know how some of you achieved it!?
Cheers!

at least you seem to have a decent understanding how difficult it is.

Welcome to the site
And for most here, would be marriage, then either H1B or L1 visa...best bet to sample life here would be to study on an F1 visa for a bit....

Re: Newbie saying hello
hi and welcome, my hubby got offered a job on a h1b visa in 2004 then told a month later there was no visas left but they held the job open for a year and we came out a year later.
let me say 2005 was a nightmare that I am glad is over. And hope no-one goes through the same - job offer then only to have it pulled after making arrangements and left in limbo for a year!

Thanks for the replies everyone. It seems like marriage is the most popular route - in which case, are there any American ladies out there who want to skip the whole dating thing and rush straight into a marriage!??
