Need info on applying to US University

Re: Need info on applying to US University
The thing to also worry about is, will your kid need or want to work while at uni?
If you get your kids the L2 visa along with yours, they won't be allowed to work.
If your son gets a student F1 visa, he'd be allowed to work part time, on campus, after the first semester....problem with possibly ageing out to transfer the visa back to L2 after, or even having time to get a greencard if you pursue one, which you should as soon as you can, especially more so if you aren't L1A but B. Also chances are, would be considered a international student for the duration, though depending on the uni, they might change to in state after the first year.
The visa thing is something you really should bring up with the company lawyer, but you might also want to have a consult with your own immigration lawyer because you need to remember that the client will be the company if you speak to their lawyer, and it would be the company interests and not of your family they will best be looking over and once you've got your Greencards, you can bugger off around the US to your hearts content.
