Default Name change after Naturalization

Greetings! Quick question for you super-gurus:

I became a US citizen last July and now I want to have my first name changed in the near future (just a vanity thing) - do I have to notify the USCIS of my name change or am completely done with them? My certificate of naturalization has my current name, of course.

Thanks in advance!

Jenny

Nope. In fact, they won't be interested. If you need to prove your citizenship to someone, you'll have to use your naturalization certificate AND court order changing your name. Of course, a passport in your new name would be easier.

Always a tricky area, with pitfalls to avoid.

Take this guy for instance...

You could have changed your name at the time you gained US citizenship.
