Default N400 Help Please!

Hi

Can anyone please help me, my N 400 interview was scheduled in Orlando Florida for August 1st 2002. During 3rd week of July I received a NOA Saying that my interview had been descheduled due to unforseen circumstances.

I have not heard anything else, my questions are

1. Does anybody have a phone number for the INS Orlando or Miami office that has not been disconnected.

2. Has anybody else been descheduled and how long did it
take to reschedule

3. Anybody know what unforseen circumstances may be

I ahve been in touch with the Texas Service Center and the 1 800 number, both of whom tell me to contact the Orlando Office, or the Miami Office, but they give me phone numbers that have been disconnected

PLEASE HELP. I JUST WANT TO BE A CITIZEN.

Thanx in advance for any help

Simon

But you are already a citizen: of your homeland/country. Why do you want to be a
citizen here so desperately?

It's not that I am desperate to become a USC. I just don't like to think that my file has found it's way into the "Black Hole"

All I am looking for is a way to contact the INS, and speak to someone who can give me an idea fo the time frame I am now looking at

It is virtually impossible for an ordinary person to reach anyone, and to get useful
information, by phone, in most INS district offices.

I have not heard of descheduling, but I have heard of people showing up for the
interview, and their paperwork was not there.

Lost paperwork or lost files might be a reason.

I have three suggestions:

1. You yourself go to an INS office very early and stand in line and wait, and make
your inquiry in person. There is really no guarantee that you will get any
information, but you might.

2. Ask your Congressperson for help. The local office of the Congressperson for
your district has access to a special unit within each INS office and facility
whose job it is to respond to congressional inquiries.

3. The other suggestion is to hire an attorney to find out what's going on.

Why shouldn't this person become a US citizen? One can even have dual citizenship.

Default Why be a U.S. citizen?

L D Jones [email protected] wrote:

I just wanted to know why he wanted to become a USC so quickly.

People want to become a USC for many reasons:

A. Lower taxes (than Canada, for example).
B. Escape REAL persecution (not to be confused with the phony asylum seekers who
didn't qualify for any other type of visa to come here)
C. Change of environment
D. Opportunity to stay here for a long time and continue committing crimes in the
U.S. and then run away to their homeland when they are about to get caught here.
Dual Citizenship is useful for this tactic.
E. Evading punishment in their homeland for something they did, and receiving
protection by the U.S. Government
F. Desire to be protected here under the U.S. Constitution because of fear of
being punished here as a foreigner on a visa for some REALLY serious crime,
like terrorism
G. Prefer to deal with the State/Justice Department than the Immigration and
Naturalization Service
H. Qualify for certain prestigious jobs not open to foreigners, so that they can
protect themselves from being replaced by cheaper foreign labor.
I. Ability to rely on the U.S. Welfare and Social Security system for a living
J. Ability to exercise their new rights under the U.S. Constitution to further
their deviant behavior that wasn't permitted by their former government in
their homeland
K. Desire to participate in Jury Duty so that they can let serious criminals from
their homeland off the hook
L. Ability to marry one or more foreigners, and help them get into this country.
M. Ability to vote. More appropriately, ability to vote against Americans who were
born here.

And many more reasons.

About A.

Yah we have lower taxes, but our medicine and hospital stay is not free. In Canada
it is, but they get tax more. Its the same in the end.

Just living here is good enough and earn the US dollar.

Other thing is we have more foreign enemies that likes US citizens.

I agree with the rest.
