Well, it was Joseph Losey's film of Don Giovanni - with the wonderful Ruggero Raimondi as the Don -that got me hooked on opera and thus changed my life!

Donna Elvira was one of Don Giovanni's many girlfriends, cruelly jilted of course, but she is the one who tries to save him from damnation at the end. Of course he doesn't listen and is consumed by the flames of Hell! (Well, that's the straightforward version, anyway - it's a lot more complicated and 'deep'...)
These days I'm just plain 'Elvira'. I had to drop my title here because people kept calling me 'Donna'
So now you know!

I've never used an iPod, but they are pushing it way too much for my liking. Its so cool, its uncool - if you know what I mean.
I just happen to have a cell phone that can play MP3s - so thats what I use. Means I don't have to carry around 2 devices. And my cell phone can have up to 1GB of storage, so thats enough for me. Also plays video! And does GPS! Does email. And I can browse the web. Nuff said.
If you want to look for cheap deals on mp3 players, try this site http://www.bf2005.org/adscans.html for the traditional Black Friday deals.

Apart from Bose what is the best speaker system for an iPod?
I've been to a couple of places and tested them but in a big store I can't really tell the difference.

If you absolutely have to have a cool looking speaker set, the JBL Creature 2 blows away the Bose system and costs less than 80 bucks online.
If you're rich, maybe a $1100, 600 watt system that looks cool but probably doesn't sound that great is the way to go.

For all the talk of Apple players being more expensive, you'll actually find that nothing much can compete with the iPod Nano for value - Apple are selling their 2GB and 4GB flash-memory based players for less than almost any other company right now. Combine that with excellent industrial design (the Nano gets scrached very easily apparently, but a little Brasso fixes that right up!) and the best user interface on the market, and you reall can't beat Apple's current generation of players.

Why why why?? Why carry a bleeding video player with you? Someone please tell me what is the point? Is the world really so bland and boring we need to carry pulp entertainment with us all the time?
I can see then now...all these people glued to the mindless video screen completely unaware of who and whats going on around them.....even more cut off from each other....sad, very sad in my opinion.

I have a 20GB iPod - have had it for over two years now - and have never had a problem with the battery.
I have a set of Altec Lansing speakers, (similar to those but not that model) and also the Griffin iTrip so I can use it in my car and listen through the radio.
I admit it, I am a Mac/iPod junkie!
I love browsing through the Apple store in our mall even if I don't need anything and, actually, am headed over there this morning.

I'm old enough to remember when airline passengers actually had conversations with the person in the next seat...
:scared: But I know what you mean, and I agree.

depends on what they want to use it for, just somin' small to get around school and stuff, then a Creative Muvo is pretty good, get a min of 256mb, $50...but van get 512mb for less than $80 and there great value for money...software is a a tad shite, but don't really need software...
if they want there whole collection on the player, and have loads, then get a 5gb min...flash is probably more study if you chuck them around a bit compared to a hard drive one....ipod nano ain't bad, but a tad pricey....creative zen is better value for money, and a nice hard drive backup...another great make, best sound is the iRiver players...benefits over ipod, is you can buy tunes from various sources which you can't with iPods...and also can sync tunes up to multiple computers without being a mare like pods...
