The Carolinas have mountains, rolling hills, a huge coastal plain, beaches, and coastal islands. Anywhere from the mountains to the coasts may be forested, or open farmland There are cities, towns, villages and unlike the UK you can easily find a home outside of any community. There are two major airports and numerous smaller ones, and interstates running north, west, and south for easy road access.

So what do you want from a home?

I've relocated to SC from FL and spend 50% of my time working in the mountains in NC.
You are talking of an area larger than the UK, there's a heck of a lot to be had or absolutely diddly squat, hugely dependent upon where you land up. Sarasota/Tampa had a vibrant arts culture going on, the middle of upstate SC is a cultural desert (despite the state capital of Columbia being only an hour away from us.) Rural SC is considerably cheaper than the Tampa Bay area and, for example, quality of locally available healthcare can be judged accordingly.

What type of lifestyle are you looking for - 'proper' city life, mountain town living, hippie dippy shizzle, vibrant culture, sandy beach kicking back, small town Spanish Moss Deep South style. Does grid iron football, soccer, rock climbing, whitewater kayaking, flying, scuba diving, sailing, fishing, grab you? Historic sites or high rises? Most things can be found but research your favourites because they might be out of reach for a weekend jolly!

Given your profile pic, I do imagine you legitimately as Mr J.C. himself.

SultanOfSwing who doesn't post very often these days, though he may be more active on the BE Farcebook site, said that whenever he reads my posts he can hear them being spoken by Jeremy.
