Re: Moving Money
I found my bank was pretty convenient for quick and easy.
Was looking at XE but the registration process seemed drawn out when I needed to do it quickly.
You pay a fee for the international money mover but you do get a good rate (this is lloydstsb)
I can imagine XE would be worth registering with if you were going to do future transactions.

Re: Moving Money
Has anyone ever used PayPal to send money to someone in the UK? I need to send Christmas money to my daughters and am fed up with MoneyGrams. I thought PayPal might be an easy fix, does anyone know of any drawbacks?

Re: Moving Money
Well, MoneyGram would charge me $14 to send $200. That's pretty hefty. So PayPal would be favourable in comparison, I might give it a try.

Another vote for XE. The application is subject to stringent checks, but thats the way it is these days given terrorism and Money Laundering checks. Be patient, open your account and you are away - good exchange rates and real time. I've recommended XE to a lot of my clients too.

Re: Moving Money
I haven't looked into XE Trade. I don't have an account with them, whereas I do have a PayPal account and so does my daughter. I am having trouble prising her bank account details out of her - she keeps forgetting one detail or another whenever I phone - so I thought that using PayPal would at least have the money definitely deposited in her account.
