Despite how long the visa took, the process of arriving, getting SS number has been really very easy.

If anyone is thinking of moving on H1B, I am happy to provide advice and help based on my experience.

Thanks again!

I recently moved form London to los Angeles. Despite the fact that LA is the undisputed worst place in the entire world, I have been trying super hard to like it.

[QUOTE=Sally Redux;10721360]Nooo!! I won't have that!

Me neither! I love this city. It really is what you make of it.

How I've learnt to enjoy LA:

- Lease a nice car as you spend a couple of hours a day in it
- Do something active - I hike and paddleboard 2-3 times a week
- Explore new neighborhoods
- Leave the city regularly - Santa Barbara, Palm Springs, San Diego etc etc all 2 hours away
- Have some friends that don't work in entertainment for obvious reasons

Hi Mark,
I'm in a similar boat to you. I'm 22 and moving out to Los Angeles on the 21st June. When's your departure? I'm staying in a hostel in Santa Monica until I get myself set up. Would be cool to have a contact out there if your going before me.

This thread is really useful thanks!

I'm 34 and my wife is 28, we're moving to LA on Green Cards in early September... Exciting!

We've really enjoyed staying in Los Feliz previously so we're going to try and find an apartment there.

It's a bit daunting as we don't have any employment lined up... But I'm sure it will all work out :-)
