Moving to another state after GC interview
I really do not want to live in this city where I will be applying for
adjustment of status. I decided to stay put here and apply here
because I will need affidavit of support from my US sibling petitioner
who lives here and communicating with her in these past few years
(after she became rich, starting in 1997) has been hard.
This afternoon, I thought of leaving as soon as I get EAD (based on
I-485 application) and come here for GC interview but realized that in
case there is complication and need more supporting letter from my US
citizen sibling, it would be better if I were here and so decided to
wait till GC interview is approved.
Once approved, and I get my GC stamp, what will happen if I move to
another state and update my address using AR11 form? Will the local
office here just send me my GC to the new address? Or will my GC
processing be transferred to the local office in the new city (and
state) I moved to, and hence I be placed in line?
In the latter case, I would just give a friend's address of this city
to local office.
BTW, in updating the address, do I just use AR11 or do I also need to
write a letter to local office and inform them the new address.
Is there an option to get the GC be mailed to the lawyer's office so
that I can get it from the lawyer?
Not too happy in this city,
Amanda

I guess asking, "Is there an option to get the GC mailed to the
lawyer?" was silly.
