Definitely check the movingscam website before contacting any potential movers. Also, check companies policies for interstate moves.

This is of no help to you but funny! There used to be a trucking company in Manhattan made up totally of women (some of them did not look that feminine) They were called Mother Truckers!!

I had Allied Van Lines move us from MO to Al a few months ago and was quite happy with them...though I am sure it all depends on the actual moving team (they are all independant contractors) who loads/hauls/unloads your goods.

Yep...it was quite expensive (IMO) too...had my employer simply paid me cash for the move I would have done another self move- and saved $3000-4000. It was nice tonot have to pack a damn thing tho...

I hear ya....and that's my excuse to blag on my annual review for a pay hike, as they don't have to stump for a huge relocation pay out this year...we'll see how far that gets me

One thing I learned from all our moves when I was an Army wife make sure you have insurance IF you pack it yourself. If the movers pack or at least seal the boxes they are liable, if not, you are......
Also moving during "high" (read summer) the companies are so busy they'll hire any Tom, Dick or Harry off the street.

When we moved to Atlanta we had A C White move us in they are part of United Van Lines, they were quick, clean and curtious.
I have heard from friends who used AtlantaPeachMovers.com they too were impressed with the service.
