I think it was Road Warrior on here who made a good point, it's a nation which loves a bargain and value for money, yet has a huge blind spot on the poor value they are getting on healthcare and other issues regarded as having a 'socialist' element.

Indeed, and some of the poorer folk appear amoung the first to wrap themselves around the flag..As they used to say, Ask what you can do for your country, not what your country can do for you.

I watched "Roger and Me" when it came out, and I liked it. I never thought to question wether it was factual or not, I just thought it was funny, poking fun at the man in the glass tower.
After some of the well documented irregularities with his "Columbine" (No, I haven't seen it) he did indeed make me question things and think.

And that being so, why i wonder how it is that a lot of the world finds Americans so ignorant and gullible and that they live up the the stereotypes at times?
Why are Americans so amazed even hurt when foreigners comment in the negative with regards to features of American politics.? And equally amazed to learn we had six weeks holiday a year and a free medical system?
No folk like Michael Moore can surely show another way is possible as well as the big one....question what is happening for what reason and who is profiting....

The movie got a standing ovation in the UWS theatre where I saw it.
However, I thought it was crap. He goes off on all sorts of tangents and doesn't expand on any of his theories. None of his chosen topics seem to link together, and he doesn't provide us with an alternative to capitalism.
He is very funny at times though. But Unlike Faranheit 9/11 and Sicko, I couldn't take this one seriously.
