Movie: "Capitalism: A Love Story"
I haven't yet seen the new Michael Moore movie, but my son and his 20 year old (American) girlfriend went to see it last night.
She remarked to me "I never want to fly domestically on any American airline again" and I asked why. She said that she wouldn't feel safe as she was horrified at the extremely low wages that many of the pilots are getting, some of them are doing more than one job to survive (there was a clip about the Colgan air crash in Buffalo earlier this year) and that one of the pilots featured in the movie is on food stamps. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/capi..._a_love_story/ |

Michael Moor is a fool, I used to like him but then he went of the rails.
And if you knew what just about all airlines make, work and hours none of us would ever fly again |
Re: Movie: "Capitalism: A Love Story"
I think it should be interesting and very topical.

But he's a fat and ugly socialist/communist/nazi. And so is anyone who watches his movies.

From the comments:
The biggest strike...with this film is its hypocrisy. Here's a man taking shots at capitalism, and he's the biggest capitalist in Hollywood. |
Re: Movie: "Capitalism: A Love Story"
I wanna see his movie, I'm not a big fan of his movies but I've seen Sicko and that was pretty good I think. Sure he sugarcoats things but there is some truth to what he says
Doesn't this belong in a different forum like the trailer park or something? |

I recommend this excellent review, written by an NYU economics professor.

Wouldn't ever subject my eyes/ears to any of his so-called movies

Re: Movie: "Capitalism: A Love Story"
I was watching Moore for years he used to have a tv programme on the BBC.
Its interesting how he brings out such negative reactions in people. I admire people who are prepared to stand up and fight the big corporations. He sometimes over eggs it to make a point but otherwise he makes interesting observations that others are not making. |
