Movie: "Capitalism: A Love Story"

I haven't yet seen the new Michael Moore movie, but my son and his 20 year old (American) girlfriend went to see it last night.

She remarked to me "I never want to fly domestically on any American airline again" and I asked why.

She said that she wouldn't feel safe as she was horrified at the extremely low wages that many of the pilots are getting, some of them are doing more than one job to survive (there was a clip about the Colgan air crash in Buffalo earlier this year) and that one of the pilots featured in the movie is on food stamps.

Michael Moor is a fool, I used to like him but then he went of the rails.
And if you knew what just about all airlines make, work and hours none of us would ever fly again

I think it should be interesting and very topical.

But he's a fat and ugly socialist/communist/nazi. And so is anyone who watches his movies.

Thank you for pointing that out. Knew I'd missed something.

From the comments:

The biggest strike...with this film is its hypocrisy. Here's a man taking shots at capitalism, and he's the biggest capitalist in Hollywood.

I wanna see his movie, I'm not a big fan of his movies but I've seen Sicko and that was pretty good I think. Sure he sugarcoats things but there is some truth to what he says

Doesn't this belong in a different forum like the trailer park or something?

I recommend this excellent review, written by an NYU economics professor.

Wouldn't ever subject my eyes/ears to any of his so-called movies

That is true, but he does raise some interestesting subjects which do get debated and they aren't all without merit, the heart of sicko and the others were still pretty much on the button.

He does have an annoying manner about him though, but that's beside the argument.

He cracks me up and he always has. Sometimes OTT but always very well mannered and hilarious.

I was watching Moore for years he used to have a tv programme on the BBC.

Its interesting how he brings out such negative reactions in people. I admire people who are prepared to stand up and fight the big corporations.

He sometimes over eggs it to make a point but otherwise he makes interesting observations that others are not making.

Who else would put crime scene tape around Wall Street?
