Hi Duncs.

Sorry, I haven't kept up with you recent postings. I read awhile ago that you weren't to happy down in Mississippi. Are you moving back to Belfast or someplace else in the US?
Moving to Boston in 2 weeks to go to graduate school up there. Hopefully a change of scene will improve things. I said i would give the USA 5 years and if i still dont like it then i will move back to the UK. 4 years to go and so far i still want to go back to blighty. But a promise is a promise.

I agree. Being in the US has been one stress after another. There is so much of England I miss since being here.

The 5 year trial thing sounds like a good idea. Maybe I'll do that too although that'll give me three years to go and I'm already itching to jump on a plane right now.

I hope Boston works out for you.

Boston will seem like another planet. In a good way.

Its ironic isnt it really. As you said on another thread people even go so far as to think you got married just to come here. Yeah right! If i could do it again i would never have bothered i really wouldnt. I am so sick of people giving me lectures about immigrants clamouring to get here and how great it is. Well not for me so far. I regret coming here all the time and if it were financially feasible i would go back to the UK at the drop of a hat. i came here because i love my wife and i promised to give her career here a chance. I will keep that promise and i hope Boston shows me a side of the USA i like better but if my lottery numbers ever come up i am gone.

I'm with you on this, I'd jump back on the plane tomorrow if I could but to do this I'd have to leave husband behind as US military won't let him go. We have another 6 yrs to go and I am trying to make it a good 6 yrs but find it hard every day even being here on the beautiful Gulf coast of Florida. Nothing is like good old England!!!!
Oh well will go & sulk a bit more with my depressed homesickness...

Wow, your situation almost mirrors mine. It's a shame I'm not passing through Mississippi some time soon (we used to always drive through it to Louisiana), I would have stopped off and had a drink with you and BSed about stuff.

This is the best I can do though.

Cheers.
