It said she'd ran away from home and was living voluntarily in the house with the man and the 2 woman. She went to school every day, had a cell phone and was allowed to go where she pleased.
She hid in the cupboard when anyone came to the door in case it was her parents or the authorities. Her parents were friends of the people she was living with.

They stay with their captor even though they have opportunity to escape, adopt their captors belief system and to everyone else appear to be staying voluntarily with that person.

Patty Hearst: an american heiress was a well known case in the 70's when she was kidnapped by a terrorist group and later imprisoned for taking part in a bank robbery with members of the "army" that had captured her.

Re: Missing Girl Found Alive!
and here she is:
The syndrome is named after the Norrmalmstorg robbery of Kreditbanken at Norrmalmstorg, Stockholm, Sweden, in which the bank robbers held bank employees hostage from August 23 to August 28 in 1973. In this case, the victims became emotionally attached to their victimizers, and even defended their captors after they were freed from their six-day ordeal. The term Stockholm Syndrome was coined by the criminologist and psychiatrist Nils Bejerot, who assisted the police during the robbery, and referred to the syndrome in a news broadcast.
