Missed Dr Appointment

Re: Missed Dr Appointment
Several of the statins have gone generic now. My hubby used to take Pravachol, generic is pravastatin. He gets it from Target for $10 for a 3- month supply. They use simvastatin with the NHS, which is another generic. Target, Wal-Mart, etc., all do these $4 a month for generic, or $10 for a 3- month supply. Obviously you need the prescription first. They will put you on call-back, and call you when you need pick up your next, supply, until your prescription runs out. Don't use your drug card, just pay for it.

I think I'm going to cry I completely forgot about the kids school medicals today. I never forget appointments! I feel so guilty. I am spinning so many plates at the moment but why did this have to be the one I dropped? Will the surgery allow me to make another appointment or will I be considered unreliable now and have to find somewhere else? I totally understand if I have to pay a fee. I just wish they knew that I've never done this before! All week I had been thinking about it and then today I forget - I am so angry with myself!
As others have said, I'm sure if you give them a call and grovel it will all be fine.

Oh hey, listen....I realised about four days after the fact - while I was wasting time on BE probably - that I/we had forgotten our biometrics appointments for our greencard application, I broke out in a cold sweat, but it was all good in the end.

Re: Missed Dr Appointment
We made an appointment via the internet to the USCIS office...a couple of days later we attended the appointment and grovelled. A couple of months later we received a new date...turned out to be 6 months after the original date. As it turned out we were lucky because the date I thought was our interview was Good Friday...so our file hadn't been marked as a no show. If it had been we would have had to have started the application from the beginning.

Ah well, at least it saved me trouble, but I still don't have a gyne now.

Re: Missed Dr Appointment
Just wanted to let you know that I phoned this morning and they were really cool about it. I'm guessing it's because she works on a switchboard so it's no skin off her nose, unlike my UK practice which was a little village surgery with a dragon of a receptionist! I couldn't re-schedule until May but never mind. Thanks for listening to my crazy meltdown madness, the 1st of many I am sure!

One time I used one of those type doctors and got very frustrated. I'd make an appointment and then need lab tests and then back to see him. It was two months before I found out about the lab test. Ever since then when I was told it would take a month to get an appointment, I said no thank you and called another doctor. I've been happy with all the doctors except the one that required a long time to get an appointment.
Also I've found my doctors can generally fit me in the same day right before lunch or at the end of the day if I have a minor emergency.
