Mercury insurance.
Hi guys.
As some of you know, my wife and I bought a plan in East bay (SFH) and are moving very soon! right now my auto and renters insurance is with Allstate.
I got in touch with a broker for the new home and auto quotes and the best he provided me was Mercury Insurance. I am not sure what kinda reputation they have but given I had to have insurance in order to fund and close, I paid it and thought to myself if there are any issues come out of my researc then I will just move my policies.
Auto insurance went down dramatically from around 580/6 months to 400/6 months. (just 1 car and wife does not drive). Home insurance around 600 a year.
Anyone have any idea how these guys are? much appreciate your help.
Regards,

Re: Mercury insurance.
E3, I used them for a year for car insurance and switched the next year for lower premiums. I did not have a claim so I really can't speak to that. All I can really say is that they didn't do anything abnormal to my payments or treat me like crap when I called them.

Oh, that's fine. I have been insuring my car with Safeco for five or six years now. No trouble at all, reasonable premiums even on collision coverage, a lot of friendly phone staff, and a well-handled claim three years ago when I rear-ended someone who rear-ended someone else on a greasy city road after a sudden squall. I don't mind recommending them based on my own experience. I live in Houston, incidentally (the state you are in, not the locality, is the biggest driver of rates, I'm told).
