medical in the UK
im just trying to get everything ready in the hope that MSC will sort themselves out soon,
my question is, how does the medical examiner prefer to have the information on injections and stuff, ive been asking at the GP and they gave me some load of rubbish about needing a letter to release my injection history, they said the doctor could write down what i have had, but i was wonderring whether you need to have something more official, if so how do you go about doing it, cos it seems this sleepy little town havent had to do anything like this before, also do they do the HIV and other tests on the spot or do they prefer you to be tested before you go, thanks in anticipation

I've had a similar problem, i rang my doctors who said they don't have vacinnation records they can supply, so i asked them to right on there headed notepaper a list of what i had, said they couldn't do that, but if i supplied a list of what i needed, they would right a letter covering that !!!
I'm now waiting for the letter to be returned.

Not really. I had a single piece of A4 on which the receptionists
eventually agreed to photocopy mine and my kid vaccination records. No
letter, no signature, no letterhead, nothing else. It was ok for us.

They will take a blood sample at the medical and do the test then. Do not
waste your time or money getting it done beforehand, the Embassy does their
own regardless.

You're fully entitled to a copy of your vaccination history. In fact
you're fully entitled to a copy of your entire medical history, though
they tend to charge for that (£20, I think); but if you make an
appointment with the nurse at your GP's and then ask him or her to
complete a travel vaccination record - they should have these as they're
distributed to medical centres nationwise - then it will cost you zilch,
nothing, nada.
Best time to do this, incidentally, is if you also need an injection.
Just go and have an injection and then ask them to do a record for you.
Any doctor claiming that they need a letter of authority for this sort of
release is talking out of their arse, because it's you personally
requesting it for your purposes and not a third party. If the GP in
London were requesting the information directly, then they would require
a letter of authority and would probably charge a fee. Same goes for
solicitors and insurers obtaining records on behalf of their clients. The
GP has absolutely no right to prevent you from having this information on
request.

I had my K1 interview and medical in London, in July this year.
I had a hand written note (on headed paper) from the nurse at my GP's.
You are entitled to this info by just asking, as far as I'm aware.
Good luck,
Rob.

My fiance had the same situation. The letter he got says that "this gentleman
tells me he has had the following....." Hardly seems acceptable to me. We are
going to try to do some more research where he grew up.

Re: medical in the UK
she wrote a list of my vacinations on a piece of paper, but i didnt think that was 'official enough' for the medical, so if i get her to write it on a letter headed paper and signs it will it be acceptable, thanks for all your responses
